Heritage’s Star In The Post: Amanda Muse
Amanda Muse is a 4 Star recruit who plays in the Post at Heritage High School. Muse is ranked as the 38th best recruit in the nation and is ranked as the #5 Post player in the nation as well. In addition, Muse is listed as the #4 recruit in the state of California and is listed as the #2 Post player in the state of California. Amanda Muse is committed to play at UCLA next fall.
Who are some role models in your life?
I have a lot of role models in my life, especially my family. My parents and older sister all played D1 basketball so they all inspire me. I also really look up to my club teammates because they are such hard workers and great people.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I like to mix it up, definitely Doja Cat, Drake, and Cardi B, but also old R&B music.
What are the strengths of your game?
My strengths are my speed, hands, ability to contest shots on defense, and my ability to finish around the rim.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory was definitely winning a Nike National Championship last July with the Stars.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
I would say Breya Cunningham is definitely the best player I’ve ever played with and against. She is so incredibly talented and strong.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Some advice I would give is to put yourself in position to be successful. Try and play on the team with the most exposure, and take the initiative with coaches.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would love to travel to Portugal, which is where my parents played professional basketball for several years.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I would want to meet Steph Curry. I’ve never actually met him and I think that would be so cool.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment is probably whenever the Olympics are on. I also love to watch the women’s and men’s NCAA tournaments, it is such high quality basketball in an awesome environment.
