Keon Edwards was born in, Houston, Texas and plays Small Forward at Hillcrest Prep. Edwards is ranked 41st on the ESPN 100 Class of 2021. Keon is also listed Top 10 at his position, and is a Top 5 recruit in the state of Arizona. Keon Edwards is committed to play at DePaul next fall.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NBA Players?

Growing up, I have always been a Lebron fan and he definitely inspired me to play the game. I used to try to do his dunks on a mini hoop and watching guys like him definitely helped me develop a love for the game.

What high school is your biggest rival?

When it comes to high school rivalry, when you are at a prep school you do not really have a rival since you play everybody you are kinda always just looking at the #1 spot and trying to take it.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I am a little different when it come to my pregame music. I do it in like a build up, like I start off listening to my slower Drake music and as game time gets closer I start to transition into my Lil Baby, Pop Smoke, Tee Grizzley and stuff like that.

What is your offseason training like?

In the off-season my focus is usually more building my body because when you’re trying to make a living out of basketball your body is your instrument your tool and you have to do the proper maintenance to keep it functioning at a high level for as long as possible

What is your favorite memory of your high school career?

My favorite memory so far of my high school career was definitely the whole John wall invitational the atmosphere at that tournament was crazy fans had the whole gym shaking and I felt like I played pretty good that tournament so the combo made it a fun experience for me

What parts of your high school game, do you hope to transition to the college level?

When I go to the college level I’m looking to take my versatility to the next level and just trying to be a matchup nightmare and being able to stretch the floor for my team with my 3pt shooting but also being able to slash

What made DePaul stand out from other schools?

What made Depaul stand out for me was just the love that the coaches were showing that made it clear how much of a priority I was to them and when I visited and saw how nice the campus was and the way they played I knew it would be a great fit.

What do you want to accomplish on and off the court during your time at DePaul?

On the court the goal is a national title I’ve never been a guy that’s okay with “moral victories “ so that’s the goal coming in and off the court the goal is to be the best student I can be just going into class everyday with a focused mindset.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

If I could meet one sports hero it would definitely be mike Tyson because I’ve watched some of his interviews and I admire the fire he brought to the ring every time he stepped in I just feel like I could get a lot out of a conversation with him on the mental side of things.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite sports moment would no doubt be when LeBron got that block on Andre Iguodala In game 7 that was huge for me i remember going crazy when that happened
