Tomball’s Star Freshman Kicker: Rocco Devita

Rocco Devita is a 2026 recruit who plays Kicker at Tomball High School. Devita is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2026 and is ranked among one of the top Kickers in the class as well. In addition, Devita is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Texas and is listed among one of the top Kickers in the state of Texas.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

Richard Sherman was my favorite player, he inspired me to play football. 

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I usually listen to Present Day Rap before my games, But sometimes I’ll switch it up. 

What is your offseason training like?

I train with my high school from 7:30 – 10:00 Monday – Thursday and during the day around 1:00 I’ll go train with my friends. Also later in the day I will kick field goals or do a leg workout for Kicking. I also train with my kicking coach Nick Gatto.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory in my sports career is probably kicking the game sealing field goal at my Nationals Tournament with the Southside Ducks to seal 3rd place. 

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

I’ve played with and against many kids who are very talented, and some even have offers. I’d say the best player I’ve played against is Tyler Atkinson who plays Defensive End in the state of Georgia.

What is your favorite food?

Burgers or Steak

When did you realize you were talented at football?

I realized I was talented when I realized how much I progressed in 1 year after my first year of football. How my distance and accuracy got a lot better in a small amount of time with not much experience.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would probably want to meet Justin Tucker or Rodrigo Blankenship, because they are my favorite kickers and I really like their play style.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

Well, my favorite college team is the University of Oklahoma, and my favorite moment was definitely watching them come back in the Red River Bowl against Texas. I just really liked how they were down by a lot but still found a way to come back.
