Stratford’s Star Tight End: Hawkins Polley

Hawkins Polley is a 3 Star recruit who plays Tight End at Stratford High School. Polley is ranked among the top 800 recruits in the nation and is ranked among the top 40 Tight Ends in the nation as well. In addition, Polley is listed among the top 150 recruits in the state of Texas and is listed as the #4 Tight End in the state of Texas. Hawkins Polley is committed to play at Baylor next fall.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

Growing up a Texans fan JJ Watt was my favorite player and someone I still look up to

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I got some rap and rock songs on a playlist I’ve been putting together. My favorite is Lose Yourself by Eminem

What is your offseason training like?

A lot of high volume lifting with athletic conditioning training

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory is my first touchdown on varsity sophomore year. It was one of the best feelings I’ve had on the field.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

It wasn’t in a game but it was just a workout. But I was catching passes from Jalen Milroe who’s the number 2 Qb at Bama right now. Every ball was a laser on the money.

What was your reaction to getting your first offer?

My initial reaction was just disbelief, like I couldn’t believe I had taken a major step in a childhood dream.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food has got to be a Chick fil a sandwich or my grandmas fajitas

When did you realize you were talented at football?

The first time I knew I was special was when I got my first offer. Before that I was just having fun and had no previous college contacts

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

Lebron James, I’d love to pick his brain and spend time with him

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite moment as a fan was watching the Astros win the World Series in 2017. My family would go to all their games even when they sucked, and to watch them win was amazing.
