Wood is ranked among the top 1000 recruits in the nation and is ranked among the top 90 Offensive Tackles in the nation as well. In addition, Wood is listed as a top 15 recruit in the state of Kentucky and is listed as the #1 Offensive Tackle in the state of Kentucky. Malachi Wood is committed to play at Kentucky next fall.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

A couple players I looked up to were Trent Williams and Tyron Smith.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Low down, Racks today, 1400/999 freestyle

What is your offseason training like?

My offseason training is three days of lifting and two days of field work, just working on technique.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory of my career so for would have to be winning the region last year with a new coaching staff and all the guys, it was awesome.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I have played with is Brady Hensley. His field vision is crazy and it’s so easy to block for him because he’ll make you right.

What was your reaction to getting your first offer?

I was so excited I couldn’t put it into words.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is salmon.

When did you realize you were talented at football?

I realized I was talented at football when I started getting all of these offers and attention. It all happened at once and was really cool.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would love to meet LeBron and would have loved to meet Kobe as well.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

When the Bengals made it to the Super Bowl. It would’ve been better if they won it all but we still got next year.
