Throwing It Down With TJ Bickerstaff
TJ Bickerstaff was born in, Atlanta, Georgia and plays Forward at Drexel. He is currently coming off of his freshman season where he averaged 4.8 Points, 3.5 Rebounds, and 0.8 Assists, while shooting 42% from the field. Next season he is looking to be a big part of Drexelś run at a CAA title and a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Growing up, were you inspired by any NBA Players?
Growing up Lebron James, Derrick Rose, Steph Curry, and Paul George inspired me to become better at the game.
What team is your biggest rival?
I say it is Delaware, rival games are always fun.
What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I usually listen to Heatin Up and Low Down by Lil Baby and Rise and Shine by J.Cole. It changes every now and then I will mix it up.
What is your offseason training like?
I have been training everyday. I live down south so a lot of gyms have been open for a while. I make sure I do weights and go to the basketball gym everyday and work on my game.
What parts of your game, do you think transitioned the best from high school to the college level?
I believe my athleticism and versatility translated the most. I was able to physically battle right away and playing several positions in high school helped a lot on the collegiate level as well.
What are your goals for the upcoming season?
My main goal is to come back and be more of a threat on the court while helping my team win games.
What are your plans for after you graduate?
My plan is to play professionally in the NBA.
What advice would you have for a young basketball player who has dreams of playing D1?
You get out what you put in, work hard and stay confident in your abilities.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I want to meet Lebron James, he has been my favorite player since I started watching basketball.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment was watching Lebron come back from a 3-1 deficit against the Warriors and win the championship. I had fun watching the whole series.
