Canarsie’s Star Freshman Safety: Armani Cabrera

Armani Cabrera is a 2025 recruit who plays Safety at Canarsie High School. Cabrera is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2025 and is ranked among one of the top Safeties in the class as well. In addition, Cabrera is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of New York and is listed among one of the top Safeties in the state of New York. His top offers are, Missouri, Syracuse, and Temple.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

Yes, Minkah Fitzpatrick is someone I’ve been inspired by since he was in high school. I’ve watched him grow as a student of the game and tried to implement his game with mine and soak in the knowledge he has.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Usually I like to listen to r&b music to keep me calm and relaxed before a game. Some of my favorite artists are Michael Jackson and New Edition, but I try to throw in a little bit of today’s music and artists such as J.Cole, Migos, Lil Baby, and Jay-Z.

What is your offseason training like?

My off-season training is basically trying to remain healthy with my mind, body, and spirit. I work a lot on positional training with my DB trainer and I also participate in my school workouts. I get a lot  of work in with my speed & conditioning coach. I also try to get as much recovery time as needed so I can be more productive and energetic when I train.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

There are a lot of great players I’ve played with and played against. Just to name a few.. Gavin Nix, James Little, Donovan Johnson, Winston Watkins, Mekhi Rossignal, Omari Gaines and many more.

What was your reaction to getting your first offer?

My family and I were very excited. It was a blessing to know that I have the opportunity to go to a division I school, but it was gods work and I would’ve never received it without him so I thank him everyday for it.

What is your favorite food?

Steak or salmon with some baked or mashed potatoes and corn
