Cole Surber is a 3 Star recruit who plays Offensive Guard at Patriot High School. Surber is ranked among the top 800 recruits in the nation and is ranked as a top 60 Offensive Guard in the nation as well. In addition, Surber is listed as a top 20 recruit in the state of Virginia and is listed as the #3 Offensive Guard in the state of Virginia. Cole Surber is committed to play at Virginia next fall.
Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?
Growing up I wasn’t inspired by many but there were a few that I deeply respected and wanted to use as an example like, Quinton Nelson, JJ Watt, Wyatt Teller, and many more.
What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
Some of the songs I listen to, to hype me up, are Till I collapse – Eminem, Welcome to the jungle – AC/DC, Enter Sandman – Metallica, and a lot of other rock songs.
What is your offseason training like?
My offseason training has been good, it started off as more of a strength development in the winter and continues throughout the rest of the offseason. Now I’m throwing in fundamental work, and working on my craft. I’ve had some big numbers in the weight room and I can’t wait to see how much higher I can go.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory of my career has to be freshman year, when I picked up and waddled my quarterback into the end zone for a touchdown. It was the funniest and greatest moment ever.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I’ve ever played against in my career is Sean Murphy, who is currently a Linebacker at the University of Alabama.
What was your reaction to getting your first offer?
My reaction to getting my first offer was incredible. I jumped for joy, screamed, and hugged my parents as tight as I could. I owe it all to God to be in the place that I am today.
What is your favorite food?
My favorite food has got to be cheeseburgers.
When did you realize you were talented at football?
I didn’t realize I was talented at football until probably after my sophomore season was over and I had just received my first offer.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet one sports hero, it would probably be JJ Watt.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment as a fan is definitely experiencing Enter Sandman at Virginia Tech.
