Dwyer’s Star Edge Rusher: Kerrington Lee

Kerrington Lee is a 3 Star recruit who plays Defensive End at Dwyer High School. Lee is ranked as the 565th best recruit in the nation and is ranked as a top 50 Defensive End in the nation as well. In addition, Lee is listed among the top 100 recruits in the state of Florida and is listed as a top 10 Defensive End in the state of Florida. Kerrington Lee is committed to play at Wake Forest next fall.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

I mainly grew up playing basketball, so some players that inspired me basketball wise were Lebron and Westbrook. Once I started getting into football, the players that inspired me were JJ and TJ Watt, and Aaron Donald, just because of their positions and the violence and physicality that they played with.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Some of the pregame artists I listen to are, G Herbo, Lil Uzi, Gunna. They get me in my zone.

What is your offseason training like?

So far my offseason training has been weight lifting and eating. I’ve been trying to gain weight so I can play early at the college level and be effective. Next year at Wake Forest I’m enrolling early, and playing in the spring.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

One of my favorite memories is my first sack of my high school career. The rush I got after it was insane, and I’ll always remember that.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

So far I’ve played against the twin towers, they were both 3 star recruits that are now at Maryland.

What was your reaction to getting your first offer?

I was super excited, I didn’t think I would ever get that far

What is your favorite food?

Right now my favorite places to get food are Chipotle and Bolay. I like rice and chicken.

When did you realize you were talented at football?

I realized my talent in football my junior year, this year. I didn’t think I was that good, but I put in a lot of work over quarantine, and I knew I was better than everyone else I was going against.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

If I could meet one player it would be Lebron obviously because he’s the G.O.A.T. I’ve played against his son in basketball, so I would want to talk to him, maybe play Xbox with him.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite sports moment is when Alabama wins every year because, that’s my team that I root for in college every year. Obviously when Wake Forest wins, it’s a great moment.
