The Longhorn’s Next Star Linebacker: S’Maje Burrell

S’Maje Burrell is a 4 Star recruit who plays Inside Linebacker at North Crowley High School. Burrell is ranked as the 269th best recruit in the nation and is ranked as a Top 10 Inside Linebacker in the nation as well. In addition, Burrell is listed as a Top 40 recruit in the state of Texas and is listed as the #1 Inside Linebacker in the state of Texas. S’Maje Burrell is committed to play at Texas next fall.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

Growing up i watched a lot of Luke Kuechly and Ray Lewis.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I listen to Double007, Lil Baby, and a few other artists.

What is your offseason training like?

My offseason is being in the weight room and on the field. Spending a lot of time with the team but also being consistent with my trainer. Also competing in track and powerlifting

What is your favorite memory of your career?

 I’d say every game has been a good memory. Always happy to be with my guys

What was your reaction to getting your first offer?

Was at a loss for words, couldn’t believe it and was happy

Quesadillas

When did you realize you were talented at football?

Always knew, didn’t fully set in until sophomore year

 i would want to meet Luke Kuechly
