St. Rita’s Star Offensive Guard: Collin Gerger

Collin Gerger is a 2023 recruit who plays Offensive Guard at St. Rita High School. Gerger is ranked among one of the top recruits in the nation and is ranked among one of the top Offensive Guards in the nation as well. In addition, Gerger is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Illinois and is listed among one of the top Offensive Guards in the state of Illinois. His top offers are, Fordham, Brown, and Montana State.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

 Growing up, I was really inspired by Joe Thomas and JJ Watt.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

 I listen to Chief Keef and Lil Baby pregame

What is your offseason training like?

I lift everyday at St. Rita either before or after school and train with FIST Football Academy on Sundays.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory of my career is beating Prospect High School to make it back to the State Championship game.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player I have ever played with is my teammate of three years at Rita, Kaleb Brown who is committed to Ohio State.

What was your reaction to getting your first offer?

I was super happy when I got the phone call from Fordham, my first offer. I was super relieved that all of my hard work had finally paid off.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is Steak.

When did you realize you were talented at football?

 I always thought I was a good football player, but I realized how talented I was when I started Week 2 of my Sophomore season on varsity and played an excellent game.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would want to meet Tom Brady

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite sports moment as a fan had to be when the Loyola Men’s basketball team made it to the Final Four in the 2018 March Madness tournament.
