One Of The Top 10 Wide Receivers In North Carolina: Barry Tate

Barry Tate is a 3 Star recruit who plays Wide Receiver at Northeast Guilford High School. Tate is ranked among one of the Top recruits in the nation and is ranked among the Top 180 Wide Receivers in the nation as well. In addition, Tate is listed as a Top 30 recruit in the state of North Carolina and is listed as the #8 Wide Receiver in the state of North Carolina. He currently holds an offer from Navy.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

Growing up, my uncle (Brandon Tate) was my favorite player. He was in the NFL for 10 years, and I loved going to his games and watching him play.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I listen to anything Lil Baby, Drake, or Gunna.

What is your offseason training like?

Offseason training I want to train like the next level, so usually I wake up around 6:30 in the morning, go hit the weight room then grab something to eat, then hit the field later around 2 and chill for a little bit, and then go back later that night.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

My favorite memory was when we played Rockingham. It was probably my most memorable game as I went for 300 receiving yards, it was a crazy night.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

The best player had to be my guy Mehki Wall, he’s crazy talented

What was your reaction to getting your first offer?

When I got my first offer I was pumped, I was so excited I talked about it for like 2 weeks.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite foods are Steak and Crawfish.

When did you realize you were talented at football?

It was when I played my first game my 10th grade year, I ran 2 kick returns back and had 2 receiving touchdowns.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would want to meet Chad Johnson, he’s a beast and I would love to learn from him.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

My favorite sports moment was when I met Odell Beckham Jr.
