The #2 Tight End In California: Cooper Flanagan

Cooper Flanagan is a 4 Star recruit who plays Tight End at De La Salle High School. Flanagan is ranked as the 206th best recruit in the nation and is ranked as a Top 15 Tight End in the nation as well. In addition, Flanagan is listed as a Top 15 recruit in the state of California and is listed as the #2 Tight End in the state of California. Cooper Flanagan is committed to play at Notre Dame next fall.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

Of course Gronk as a kid, and Peyton Manning. I was a Denver fan just for Manning. Now I really like Andrews, he is really a favorite of mine.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Mostly Rap, anything Rap gets me hyped and ready. I do like Chilin Peppers and some 70’s Rock.

What is your offseason training like?

The grind, but love it. December. to Now, its lift, 7on 7 practice all week, then weekend 7 on 7 tourneys. that just ended for now so right now, its school, lift, track and then more agility work at Performance gym. I do something everyday even if it is Sunday, hand/eye coordinator or Juggs machine.

What is your favorite memory of your career?

2 memories come to mind ….playing in my first Varsity game Sophomore year, and getting the win AND touchdown at Folsom to secure the win. So much hype that game and we were away, it was a great night. Hope for a ton more favorites this year and into college for sure.

What was your reaction to getting your first offer?

It was surreal, it came from Cal and I was not expecting it my Sophomore year, I was blown away, humbled and honored by every offer since.

What parts of your high school game, do you hope to transition to the college level?

My ability to be great in the passing but also support the team with my blocking abilities. Just be that all around Tight End to get the W’s.

What is your favorite food?

Filet Mignon

What made Notre Dame stand out from other schools?

The academics, the community, the school itself and of course the football history. I also think the coaching is fantastic. I think they can support my goal of getting to the NFL, and I’ll have a great degree after football ends.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

Peyton Manning, he’s a great competitor

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

Anything with Jokic, too many to pinpoint, or the Allen Iverson step over
