Hudson Catholic´s Star Freshman Point Guard: Omari Moore
Omari Moore is a 2025 recruit who plays Point Guard at Hudson Catholic High School. Moore is ranked among one of the Top recruits in the class of 2025 and is ranked among one of the Top Point Guards in the class as well. In addition, Moore is listed among one of the Top recruits in the state of New Jersey and is listed among one of the Top Point Guards in the state of New Jersey. He currently holds offers from St. Johns and LaSalle.
Growing up, were you inspired by any NBA Players?
Growing up I used to watch a lot of Kyrie Irving in his rookie season with the Cavaliers, and knowing he was from Jersey just inspired me to want to make it and play on that same stage.
What high school is your biggest rival?
St. Peter’s Prep is our biggest rival.
What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
Pregame songs, on the bus I listen to a lot of A Boogie. I start off with 4 minute convo and it’s a real vibe and the songs just keep coming so a lot of A Boogie on the bus ride, but in warmups I got to get turnt a little so I’m going to play some Youngboy with a little Gunna.
What do you like to do outside of playing basketball?
My life is really built around basketball nowadays, but outside of basketball I do like to cook because I like to eat so I had to learn how to cook from my mom.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
Best player I ever played with definitely has to be Tahaad Pettiford and Elijah Gertrude, best player I played against is Isaiah Briscoe in an open run.
What is your favorite food?
Favorite food is Shrimp Alfredo
When did you realize you were talented at basketball?
I realized I had some type of talent when I was young. I would really play basketball for fun on a local AAU team called Pure basketball and we would play up in a lot of tournaments and I would just be hooping and winning. But I really knew I was good was when I first got on the circuit last year at Made Hoops and I was just dominating, putting up big numbers through the sessions, and I just knew from there I could really do something.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Michael Jordan
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
Favorite sports moment is Kyrie´s three pointer over Curry to take the lead in game 7 of the Finals.
