The Latest D1 Recruit To Come Out Of Gill St Bernard: Drew Kania

Drew Kania is a 2022 recruit who plays Power Forward at Gill St Bernard. Kania is ranked among one of the top recruits in the nation and is ranked among one of the top Power Forwards in the nation as well. In addition, Kania is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of New Jersey and is listed among one of the top Power Forwards in the state of New Jersey. Drew Kania is committed to play at Brown this fall.

The Brown Commit is part of one of the top teams in New Jersey in Gill St Bernard, a nationally ranked powerhouse that features D1 recruits up and down the roster. Looking back on his high school career Drew mentions playing Sierra Canyon on ESPN his Sophomore year is his favorite memory. ¨It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and the environment was something I’ll never forget.¨

When discussing Brown, Kania says that the culture of the school stood out to him the most. Also, he said ¨During the recruiting process the coaching staff emphasized how important it was to push yourself on the court and in the classroom which is something I really value. I want to excel at everything I do.¨ Coming back from an ACL tear Drew is looking to transition his versatility to the next level. ¨I feel like I can play and guard multiple positions and that’s something I’d like to elevate at the next level¨

As a sports fan, Kania talks about how he is a huge Michigan State fan, since both of his parents are MSU alumni. He remembers when he was in 6th grade, watching the Michigan vs Michigan State football game in which the Spartans returned a blocked punt for the game winning touchdown as time expired. ¨I remember we had a bunch of friends over who were Michigan State fans and when they won it felt like my house was about to collapse, everyone was celebrating so hard.¨
