The Southlake Carroll Star Running Back: Owen Allen

Owen Allen is a 2023 recruit who plays Running Back at Southlake Carroll High School. Allen is ranked among one of the Top recruits in the class of 2023 and is ranked as one of the Top Running Backs in the class as well. Allen was recently named to the MaxPreps 2020 Sophomore All American First Team. Allen was also a crucial part in helping lead Southlake Carroll to the Texas State Championship Game against Austin Westlake.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

I think growing up I always loved watching Marshawn Lynch even though I’ve always been for of a college football guy.

What high school is your biggest rival?

I think you have to consider every team you play your rival.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I love classic rock before games.

What is your offseason training like?

A lot of push-ups, a lot of running hills, and a whole lotta eating.

What is your favorite memory of your high school career, so far?

Beating Duncanville in the Semi-Final game. Being able to prove all the projected outcomes wrong was an amazing feeling.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?

Can’t say I have a favorite. But the ten guys I would line up on the ball with this past year is a group I’ll never forget.

What is your favorite food?

I love Steak

When did you realize you were talented at football?

I’ve been playing football since before I can remember. I’ve just always had so much energy and football was a great outlet for that.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

If I could meet one sports hero, I would’ve loved to meet Pat Tillman.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

Growing up I was a big FSU fan. So seeing them win the National Title was very exciting to me.
