G.W. Long’s Star Safety: Preston Williams

Preston Williams is a 3 Star recruit who plays Safety at G.W. Long High School. Williams is ranked among one of the top recruits in the nation and is ranked among one of the top Safeties in the nation as well. In addition, Williams is listed as a top 70 recruit in the state of Alabama and is listed as the #5 Safety in the state of Alabama. He is committed to play at Auburn.

Who are some role models in your life?
Jesus Christ is my role model. He is truly the only reason why I’m able to do what I do. He gives me strength through it all.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I listen to Christian rap or worship music before games. It really gets me in a peaceful mindset before my games.

What are the strengths of your game?
I’m a student of the game. I see the game from different viewpoints because I’ve been blessed to know how to play different positions.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
Getting an opportunity to start my freshman year at quarterback in a playoff game and having a solid performance.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
I would say to put God first and build a personal relationship with Him.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was four years old.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Stephen Curry.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
The 2019 Iron Bowl.
