Growing up, were you inspired by any NFL Players?

I actually never really got into watching football until I became a freshman in high-school, but as soon as I did I became a big fan of Larry Allen. I love his downhill play style and how he tries to dominate from the start.

What high school is your biggest rival?

Our biggest rival here at McMinn is definitely Bradley Central. Ever since I was a little kid I knew we have to beat Bradley when I get to higschool, and it runs deep in history around here.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

I don’t really listen to music to hype me up, but if I had to pick a song it’d be “Till I Collapse” from Eminem and Nate Dogg.

What is your offseason training like?

In the off-season I try to build as much muscle, size, and explosiveness as I can. Instead of maintaining and conditioning like in the season, I like to build up my body and strength as much as I can.

What is your favorite memory of your high school career?

I’d have to say our football camps for sure. There’s something about working your ass off as a team then getting to share meals and rest in the same area that really brings you together. I also got my first offer at a camp and the way my team and coaches celebrated with me really lit a fire in me to keep working.

What parts of your high school game, do you hope to transition to the college level?

I’m a great puller and run blocker, so I’d love to keep on being a road grader and continue leading the way even in college.

What made Virginia Tech stand out from other schools?

At first it was just the level of football and how great the academics are. The more I actually got to know about the school, culture, and team though I just fell in love with it. The coaches are all good, simple men that just want to win football games and build their players up to be the best men they can be.

What do you want to accomplish on and off the field during your time at Virginia Tech?

On the field I want to work my ass off to be an important member of the OL, and be able to compete in ACC football. Off the field I want to get a degree in Electrical Engineering, then pursue a masters as well. Overall I just want to do the best I can in both football and academics so I can really set myself up for life after college.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

I would have absolutely loved to have met Reggie White, we use a lot of quotes from him in our FCA huddles here. I know he was a great man, and it would have been awesome to be able to talk to him about football, life, and Christ.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

Before I committed to VT, my family bled orange and white. And I remember watching the Tennessee vs Georgia game in 2016 live when Josh Dobbs threw the Hail Mary to win the game like it was yesterday. My family got so hyped up we started throwing the GameDay chips and wings everywhere.
