Lakeland’s Star Sophomore Lineman: Jaxson Russell

Jaxson Russell is a 2029 recruit who plays Interior Offensive Line at Lakeland High School. Russell is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2029 and is ranked among one of the top Interior Offensive Linemen in the class as well. In addition, Russell is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Florida and is listed among one of the top Interior Offensive Linemen in the state of Florida. He holds offers from schools such as Georgia, LSU and Texas A&M.

Who are some role models in your life?
A role model in my life is my dad because he shows me what a great man looks like and how to present myself.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I don’t really listen to music before my games, but if I do, it would be Zach Bryan or Sam Barber.

What are the strengths of your game?
My strengths in my game are my speed and agility. I’m really good on pulling plays.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
The first time I got to suit up and play on the same line with my brother.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I have played against is Wyatt Smith. I played him in the state game last year.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Just because it doesn’t happen today doesn’t mean it can’t happen tomorrow. God will always have something for your life.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was 8 or 9 when I fell in love with the game.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Tom Brady because I would try to learn as much as possible from him.
