Sierra Canyon’s Star Sophomore: Stephan Harrison

Stephan Harrison is a 2029 recruit who plays Defensive End at Sierra Canyon High School. Harrison is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2029 and is ranked among one of the top Defensive Ends in the class as well. In addition, Harrison is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of California and is listed among one of the top Defensive Ends in the state of California. He holds offers from schools such as Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State.

Who are some role models in your life?
My biggest role models are my mom, my older brother, and my youth football coach I’ve had since I was 6 years old. My mom keeps me grounded and focused on everything outside of football, my brother shows me what real consistency and hard work look like every day, and my coach has been with me since I first started playing, teaching me discipline, technique, and how to compete the right way. I also look up to top 5-star guys like Richard Wesley and Kasi Currie because they set the standard I’m trying to reach.

What artists do you listen to pregame to get you hyped up?
Pre-game, I listen to Rod Wave when I want to stay calm and locked in, YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Lil Baby when I need more energy and aggression, and I also listen to Ashanti and EBK Jaybo depending on the vibe I need before kickoff. It helps me control my mindset.

What are the strengths of your game?
The strengths of my game are my size, strength at the point of attack, and versatility on defense. I can line up in different spots, rush the passer, set the edge, and be physical against the run. My motor is also a big part of my game. I play hard every snap and try to stay disruptive from start to finish.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory is growing up with my youth coach since I was 6 years old and still having him in my corner today. He’s seen my whole journey, so being able to share my growth with him and my family means a lot. Another big moment for me was getting my first real recognition and sharing that with the people who supported me early on.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best competition I’ve faced has been other elite high school players and top-level athletes at camps and workouts. Going against 5-star and D1-caliber guys shows me where I’m at and what I need to improve on.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Advice to any aspiring D1 athlete is to stay consistent every day, not just when it’s convenient. Take coaching seriously, stay disciplined in the weight room and off the field, and don’t let success or failure change your work ethic. The separation is in the details and the daily habits.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could travel anywhere, I’d go to Dubai. I want to experience the lifestyle, the culture, and see something completely different from what I’m used to.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I fell in love with football when I was about 6 years old, when I first started playing organized football. Ever since then, it’s been something I’ve stayed locked into and continued to build on.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet one sports hero, it would be Aaron Donald. I study his hand usage, leverage, and how he dominates every snap with technique and effort.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment as a fan was watching LeBron James come back from down 3-1 in the 2016 Finals. That showed me what it takes to perform under pressure at the highest level.
