Tampa Jesuit’s Star Linebacker: Tripp Keller
Tripp Keller is a 3 Star recruit who plays Linebacker at Tampa Jesuit High School. Keller is ranked among one of the top recruits in the nation and is ranked as a top 100 Linebacker in the nation as well. In addition, Keller is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Florida and is listed as a top 10 Linebacker in the state of Florida. He is committed to play at Duke.
Who are some role models in your life?
Some role models in my life are my grandad, who played football at Wake Forest, and my dad.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
My pregame hype music is usually J. Cole, Kodak, and Eminem, but outside of gameday I listen to country music.
What are the strengths of your game?
Some strengths of my game are my football IQ and my ability to read the quarterback.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memories playing football have always been having fun and grinding with my brothers at practice every day.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I’ve played against was probably either Malik Morris or TJ Moore.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Some advice I would give to an aspiring D1 athlete is to work hard and be patient. Success with recruitment comes at different times for everyone, so don’t compare your success with what you see on social media.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I lived in Paris for four years when I was younger, so if I could go anywhere in the world, I would visit Paris again.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I knew I loved football after playing my 8th grade season.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet any athlete, I’d meet Gronk because he seems like a fun guy to hang out with, and he helped bring a Super Bowl to Tampa.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My all-time favorite sports moment is definitely the Kick Six from the Iron Bowl. Every time I see that play, I get goosebumps.
