Liberty Center’s Star Junior: Kellen Wymer

Kellen Wymer is a 2027 recruit who plays Offensive Tackle at Liberty Center High School. Wymer is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2027 and is ranked among one of the top Offensive Tackles in the class as well. In addition, Wymer is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Ohio and is listed among one of the top Offensive Tackles in the state of Ohio. He holds offers from schools such as Ohio State, Michigan State and Indiana.

Who are some role models in your life?
I think my dad is the biggest role model in my life. He does so much for me and has gotten me to where I am. When I grow up, I want to be like him.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
Before a game, I like to listen to Metallica, Ozzy, System of a Down, Korn, and Three Days Grace.

What are the strengths of your game?
I think my physicality and my ability to move as a bigger guy are big strengths. I can get to the backers quickly.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
For me, it was going to state as a freshman for the first time in over 20 years—or my first start as a sophomore.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
I played against Shaun Terry from Ironton in the state championship.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Be patient. Keep your head down and keep grinding. Don’t chase offers or recognition—just do your thing and let it come to you.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would travel to the Bahamas.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I fell in love with the game back in preschool when I first started playing flag football.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I’d meet Tom Brady.
