Valor Christian’s Star Junior Tackle: Liam Chang
Liam Chang is a 3 Star recruit who plays Offensive Tackle at Valor Christian High School. Chang is ranked as the 695th best recruit in the class of 2027 and is ranked as a top 60 Offensive Tackle in the class as well. In addition, Chang is listed as a top 10 recruit in the state of Colorado and is listed as the #1 Offensive Tackle in the state of Colorado. He currently holds an offer from Syracuse.
Who are some role models in your life?
Some of the role models in my life are my parents because they have always sacrificed for me and worked very hard to give me opportunities they never had.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I like to listen to gospel music before games to calm me down and remind me that I’m playing for an audience of one.
What are the strengths of your game?
I would definitely say some of the strengths of my game are my relentless effort and my ability to use my length to widen D-linemen.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory of my football career was last year when we beat Columbine because everyone underestimated us and we were the underdogs.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
Two players that come to mind are Keegan Perea, who was a senior defensive end at Cherry Creek High School and now plays for the University of Nevada, and my teammate Kannon Smith, who is currently committed to USC.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Some advice I would give to an aspiring D1 athlete is to lock in on your grades because no matter how good you are, you can’t go D1 without D1 grades.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could travel anywhere in the world, I would go to Northern California to see my extended family.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was 10 years old when I fell in love with the game and got addicted to the thrill of playing football.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
My sports hero is Kobe Bryant because of his Mamba Mentality.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
As a fan, my favorite moment would probably be when the Eagles won the Super Bowl in 2018. I was living in Philadelphia at the time, so seeing our local team win a Super Bowl was a cannon event.
