Tayaun Lawrence is a 4 Star recruit who plays Defensive Tackle at Bishop Gorman High School. Who are some role models in your life?
My parents, a few of my youth coaches, Kevin Winston Jr., and Rakim Jarrett. They both went to the same middle school as me. Kevin Winston’s dad was my mentor and teacher, also Mr. Winston.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
My dad and I always listened to Juelz Santana growing up to get hyped. That’s my go-to now.

What are the strengths of your game?
My explosive burst on my get-off, effective use of hands, great power, and good leverage against offensive linemen.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
Winning my first National Championship in my 10U year.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
Sekou Kamara. He played with the Louisville Chargers. I’ll never forget him.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Be a student-athlete first and foremost, and remember your offseason work is just as important as in-season. Also, understand your WHY.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Bora Bora.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I started playing at 4 years old, but when I turned 9, I really became passionate about the game.

Aaron Donald.
