Who are some role models in your life?
I would have to say my dad, Samson Satele. He raised me as a kid and showed me how to be a man. He also went to the NFL and made me and my brothers fall in love with the game. I’d also say Aaron Donald because he plays D-line and is arguably the best to ever do it. I try to model parts of my game after his pass rush.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I like to listen to artists like Fifi. I like to stay calm before the game and then turn up during the game.
What are the strengths of your game?
One of my biggest strengths is pre-snap reads. I’m able to read the offensive line and the backfield to anticipate what’s coming.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
Getting my very first offer—from Coach Garin Justice at SMU. It was an exciting and unreal experience that I’ll never forget.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best player I’ve played with has to be Ko’o Kia. I only played one year with him at Punahou, but he was a linebacker I could always trust. If I messed up, I knew he’d be there.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Stay humble and keep working. What you do in the dark will come to light. And trust in God and His timing—it’s everything.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’d love to travel to Samoa. I’m Samoan, and I want to learn more about my culture—and the food is top tier.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
Because my dad played at the highest level, I was basically born into football. I fell in love with the game from the first snap of flag football.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
Aaron Donald. Sitting down and talking with him would be legendary. I’d want to learn about football, life, and how he stays at the top of his game.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
Watching my dad run out of the tunnel and play in the NFL.
