Who are some role models in your life?
Some key role models in my life are most definitely my father and mother. I look up to them because they go through a lot of adversity and still find a way to push through and give 100 percent.
What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
Some artists I listen to before a game to get hyped up are Chief Keef, Drake, Lud Foe, and Screwly G.
What are the strengths of your game?
Some strengths in my game are my work ethic, being coachable, my intensity, my get-off, and the pride I take in playing at 100 percent and always getting to the ball.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory of my career was definitely this year—on fourth and goal, I got a sack that gave us the ball back when we were on the 3-yard line. It was a key moment that helped seal the win for us.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The best players I’ve played with so far would be either Jordan McKinley or Caleb Tucker. We played together during youth football, and all three of us were unstoppable in every game.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Some advice I’d give to an aspiring D1 athlete is: it’s all about the work. You can go anywhere and achieve anything if you put in the effort. Stay focused, stay coachable, and keep learning—even through the ups and downs. Just keep going.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could travel anywhere in the world, I’d go to Toronto, Canada. The views are amazing, and I’d love to visit.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was 9 years old when I fell in love with the game—and with sports in general. When I was younger, I was more brains than strength or athleticism, but now I feel like I’m the best of both worlds. It’s a blessing and an opportunity I won’t take for granted.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet any sports hero, it would be J.J. Watt. He’s a big reason why I started playing football. He’s truly inspiring, and his game is out of this world.
What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
My favorite sports moment as a fan is the “Beast Quake” in 2011—Marshawn Lynch’s powerful touchdown run in the playoffs. I would’ve loved to see that in person.
