Courtney Heard is a 3 Star recruit who plays Offensive Tackle at East Coweta High School. Heard is ranked as the 635th best recruit in the nation and is ranked as a top 60 Offensive Tackle in the nation as well. In addition, Heard is listed as a top 80 recruit in the state of Georgia and is listed as the #5 Offensive Tackle in the state of Georgia. He is committed to play at Georgia Tech.

Who are some role models in your life?
A big role model for me is my mom. She works hard every day to provide for our family, and that dedication motivates me to push even harder on the field. Her grind inspires mine.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
Before games, I usually listen to L5, Lil Rae, RaqoBaby, and a few others. That music gets me locked in.

What are the strengths of your game?
Some of my biggest strengths are my quick footwork and my ability to use independent hands—especially key as a 6’6″, 290-pound offensive tackle. I take pride in my technique and athleticism at my size.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory so far is when we traveled four hours to play Lowndes and came away with the win. The energy in that stadium was wild, which made it one of the most fun games I’ve ever played in.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or played against in your career?
The toughest group I’ve ever faced was Westlake’s defensive line—every one of those guys could play. The best player I’ve played with is Zach Clayton. As a sophomore, I looked up to him, and he really taught me a lot about how to carry myself and prepare.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Find someone to look up to—model your game after a great player—and stay humble no matter what. Whether you’re winning or losing, stay even and focused.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’d love to travel to Europe—just to see new places and experience different cultures.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I fell in love with football around age 9. Ever since then, it’s been a big part of my life.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I’d want to meet Trent Williams. I’d love to learn from him—he’s one of the best to ever do it at offensive tackle.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
Definitely Odell Beckham Jr.’s one-handed catch.
