Ensworth’s Star Athlete: Bishop Starling

Bishop Starling is a 2026 recruit who is an Athlete at Ensworth High School. Starling is ranked among one of the top recruits in the nation and is ranked among one of the top Athletes in the nation as well. In addition, Starling is listed among one of the top recruits in the state of Tennessee and is listed among one of the top Athletes in the state of Tennessee. He is committed to play at Duke.

Who are some role models in your life?
Definitely my mom and dad. They’ve always shown me how to live life the right way, with discipline and character.

What artists do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?
I’ve got to have NBA YoungBoy in the mix—but I always throw in some Luke Combs too. I’m from Nashville, so a little country before kickoff just feels right.

What are the strengths of your game?
Speed and athleticism. I use both to create separation and make plays all over the field.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
Beating our rivals last season for the first time in 10 years. That one meant a lot to our team, our school, and our whole community.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or against?
Tennessee commit Kaleb Beasley. He’s a real competitor and made me elevate my game.

What advice would you give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Stay consistent. If you keep grinding, it’ll show—on the field and at camps. The work always pays off.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
The Dominican Republic. I’ve always wanted to experience the culture and scenery there.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I fell in love with football in 6th grade. That’s when I realized how much I loved competing and being part of a team.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
DeSean Jackson. I’ve always admired his speed, playmaking, and confidence on the field.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?
Watching Tennessee beat Alabama and storm the field.
