Malakai Taufoou is a 3 Star recruit who plays Safety at Junipero Serra High School. Who are some role models in your life?
My role model in life is my mother.

What artists do you listen to pregame to get you hyped up?
I mostly listen to Lauryn Hill pregame. Her music gets me locked in and focused.

What are the strengths of your game?
My strengths are my ability to play both in and out of the box, my range, ball skills, and physicality. I take pride in being versatile and dependable all over the field.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory so far is my first high school interception—and getting that first win to go with it. It was a moment I’ll never forget.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or against in your career?
The best players I’ve played with are Teddy Chung and Nano Latu. Competing with them elevated my game.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Everyone’s timing is different. Keep your head down, grind every day, and trust God’s plan for you.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was around 5 or 6 when I fell in love with football, and I haven’t looked back since.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I’d love to meet Michael Jordan. His mindset and legacy are something I really admire.

What is your favorite sports moment as a fan?
Super Bowl LI—when the Patriots came back to beat the Falcons.
