Brookwood’s Star Sophomore Safety: Julian Elzey

Julian Elzey is a 3 Star recruit who plays Safety at Brookwood High School. Elzey is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2027 and is ranked as a top 30 Safety in the class as well. In addition, Elzey is listed as a top 40 recruit in the state of Georgia and is listed as a top 10 Safety in the state of Georgia. He holds offers from schools such as Georgia, Florida and Tennessee.

Who are some role models in your life?
Some of my biggest role models are definitely my parents. They constantly guide me in the right direction and support me in everything I do.

What artists do you listen to pregame to get you hyped up?
Before a game, I listen to Lil Tony, Lil Baby, and Baby Kia to get in the zone.

What are the strengths of your game?
My biggest strengths are my tackling ability, my range from sideline to sideline, and my motor—I can keep going no matter the tempo.

What is your favorite memory of your career?
My favorite memory is when I blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown. It was such an intense and hyped moment that I’ll never forget.

Who is the best player you have ever played with or against in your career?
The best players I’ve played with are Mike Matthews and Jay Crawford. Both of them are elite competitors and great teammates.

What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Keep your head down and work. Be patient, stay focused on your goals, and make sure you take care of your grades.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’d love to visit Dubai, London, and Jamaica.

How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I was six years old when I fell in love with football, and I haven’t stopped playing since.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
If I could meet a sports hero, it would be Michael Jordan or LeBron James—two of the greatest to ever do it.

What is your favorite sports moment as a fan?
Watching Odell Beckham Jr. make his first one-handed catch. That moment was unforgettable and instantly iconic.
