
St. Clair County’s Star Sophomore Receiver: Joshua Douthard
Joshua Douthard is a 3 Star recruit who plays Wide Receiver at St. Clair County High School. Douthard is ranked among one of the top recruits in the class of 2027 and is ranked among one of the top Wide Receivers in the class as well. In addition, Douthard is listed as a top 20 recruit in the state of Alabama and is listed among one of the top Wide Receivers in the state of Alabama. He holds offers from schools such as Notre Dame, South Carolina and Pitt.
Who are some role models in your life?
My head coach, Tyler Robinson, and my family have been a great support system. They’ve played a huge role in shaping who I am on and off the field.
What artists do you listen to pregame to get you hyped up?
Before games, I listen to Rod Wave and NBA YoungBoy. Their music gets me in the right mindset to go out and compete.
What are the strengths of your game?
My biggest strength as a playmaker is my vision. I see the field clearly and can anticipate plays before they happen.
What is your favorite memory of your career?
One of my favorite memories was scoring four touchdowns in a single game against Springville High School. That night was special.
Who is the best player you have ever played with or against in your career?
Jaylen Mbakwe and Mario Craver are the hardest workers I’ve seen—they’re relentless. And Josiah Dozier is the best player I’ve gone up against. He’s a serious competitor.
What is some advice you would give to an aspiring D1 athlete?
Work hard, be consistent, and always keep God first. That mindset will take you further than talent alone ever could.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’d love to visit Dubai. The culture, the views, everything about it seems amazing.
How old were you when you fell in love with the game?
I started playing football when I was five years old. My love for the game only grew stronger as I got older and more involved.
If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?
I’d love to meet Odell Beckham Jr. His style of play and energy are unmatched—he’s been an inspiration for me.
What is your favorite sports moment as a fan?
My favorite moment as a fan has been watching my former teammates succeed at the college level. It motivates me to keep pushing and know I can be next.
