Zed Key-Ohio State Center

Zed Key was born in, Glen Head, New York and played Center at Long Island Lutheran High School. Zed is ranked Top 25 at his position and is a Top 5 recruit in the state of New York. Key is committed to play at Ohio State this fall.

Growing up, were you inspired by any NBA Players?

I was definitely inspired by Lebron. Just his sheer athleticism and how he holds himself to a higher standard and how he is so humble.

What high school is your biggest rival?

To be honest, my high school did not have any rivals because we were an independent high school.

What songs do you listen to pregame, to get you hyped up?

Before games I always listen to Lil Uzi Vert. That is my favorite rapper and he always gets me hype.

What is your offseason training like?

In the gym everyday and also in the weight room everyday. Working on getting stronger and conditioning.

What is your favorite memory of your high school career?

Probably winning the state championship my junior year. We worked so hard and we were not going to lose that year!

What parts of your high school game, do you hope transition to the college level?

Definitely my post play, feel around the basket, and my mid range.

What made Ohio State stand out from other schools?

I loved it as soon as I got there. It felt like home for me. The coaching staff really wants to see you succeed and they will help you achieve your goals.

What do you want to accomplish on and off the court during your time at Ohio State?

On the court I want to win a National Championship. I also want to come in as a freshman and help the team out in any way. Off the court I want to get my degree in business. Definitely got to take care of the academics.

If you could meet one sports hero, who would it be?

Definitely Michael Jordan. After the documentary I have so many questions for him to answer.

What is your favorite sports moment, as a fan?

When the Warriors won the championship with KD. Just to see him break down in tears like that.
